Pre Trade Certificate in Hairdressing

Participants will achieve the National Certificate in Hairdressing (Salon Support) and can also achieve unit standards towards National Certificate in Hairdressing Level 5. These are nationally recognised qualifications which shorten the length of the apprenticeship. The programme content also covers colours, treatments, styling, hair ups and participants complete work experience opportunities within local salons.

Northland Hairdressing is the preferred supplier of the Hairdressing Industry Training Organisation to train and assess apprentices in the industry within Northland. There are small class numbers and expert tuition from highly skilled and qualified tutors with industry, international and teaching experience.

Graduates are sought after by the industry due to the high level of training and have been successful in local and national hairdressing competitions.

Length & Hours

Full-time 43 week programme with in salon work experience included.
The hours are from 8:45am to 4:00pm
There are two intakes per year:
January Intake - Monday to Thursday
July Intake - Tuesday to Friday.
