Te Ahuwhenua - Rural Skills

This programme is designed to provide participants with a range of skills in primary industries including agriculture, horticulture, parks and reserves, aquaculture, forestry and other related areas.  It has a strong focus on preparing participants for employment in these growing industries in Northland and beyond, by staircasing into advanced qualifications.

We will help work out a plan for the future, increase confidence, learn a variety of practical skills and work towards the National Certificate in Educational Achievement.

Programme content includes

Industry visits to primary industries in Northland
Farming/Horticulture and other related activities 
Health and Safety 
Employer Requirements
Cultural Awareness 
Some fitness training 
Waka Ama 
Up to date CV stored on a secure database for future updates 
and much much more!!!!

Students will also have the opportunity to gain

Drivers Licence 
First Aid Certificate

There will be tutor led sessions, group and individual work involved.

This programme is available at the Whangarei and Kaikohe Campus.
