Adult & Tertiary Teaching (Level 4)

We offer highly competent adult and tertiary teaching and training in Whangārei. Through our expert instruction and insights, you will gain the foundational knowledge and teaching competencies needed for an adult and tertiary educator.

Whether you are a trainer just starting out or a mid-career level teacher, this course will open up great opportunities to develop and showcase your core skills.

We take theory into practice. This is a step up the training route where you can integrate all the knowledge acquired in the course and implement it in new situations and diverse learning environments.

• Principles and theories of adult learning    
• Plan for and deliver learning sessions
• Review and evaluate teaching practice

QUALIFICATIONS AVAILABLE:

New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching Level 4

LENGTH AND HOURS:

Flexible

• 16 weeks    
• Includes 48 hours of workshops, 12 hours of one on one learning sessions, 40 workplace hours and 300 hours of self-directed learning
• Workshops scheduled to meet the timetable for each intake

ENTRY CRITERIA:

All students who wish to enrol must go through a selection interview process. Participants who meet this eligibility are able to take part in these programmes:

• Aged 16 years and above and left school    
• Must be eligible to study in New Zealand
• Commitment to completing the qualifications       
• Minimum of Level 3 qualification or can demonstrate equivalent skills   
• Have an appropriate level of literacy & numeracy skill to study at Level 4    
• Students are required to have a placement in the industry where they can deliver education or training as part of their role or in the community as a volunteer 
• You may also need to pass a safety check for the Vulnerable Children’s Act 2014
