This programme is designed for those wanting to pursue a career in the New Zealand Police Force.  It will give you the skills and knowledge you need to make your way through the rigorous

recruitment process and start your career.

Police officers routinely face situations in the field that require them to be analytical, authoritative, and decisive- all within the bounds of the law. Our course focuses on both theory and practice, strengthening your analytical skills alongside your physical stamina.  

PROGRAMME CONTENT INCLUDES:

Theory Component – to meet the requirements of the Theory Test including:

• Verbal analogies
• Numerical reasoning
• Abstract reasoning

Physical Fitness Component – to meet the requirements of the Physical Appraisal and Competence Tests including:

• 4km run assessments
• Press-ups
• Sit-ups

NCEA and Foundation Skills content:

• Literacy & numeracy
• Employability skills
• Computer skills
• Job search skills
• Communication skills
• Personal presentation
• Team work

QUALIFICATIONS AVAILABLE:

• National Certificate of Educational Achievement Level 2
• New Zealand Certificate in Foundation Skills Level 2
• New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation Level 3

ENTRY CRITERIA:

All students who wish to enrol must go through a selection interview process. Participants who meet this eligibility are able to take part in this programme:

• Aged 16 years and above, and have left school
• Must be eligible to study in New Zealand
• Commitment to completing qualifications
• Have an appropriate level of literacy & numeracy skill to study at Level 2
