This programme is designed for people who want a career in the
Hospitality sector. We will help you increase your confidence and teach you skills and knowledge that will support
your employment opportunities across a range of establishments, provide a lot of hands-on experience and establish standards of professional practice for basic service that can provide customers with confidence in a range of hospitality environments.
Get to know the basics such as learning the restaurant layout, food & beverage menu, table settings, greetings and team service dynamics.
With this course, you can serve customers in confidence and even thrive in a range of hospitality environments.
PROGRAMME CONTENT INCLUDES:
- Knowledge of commercial espresso coffee equipment
- Food safety methods
- Food preparation
- Knowledge of culinary products
- Wine service
- Functions and events experience
- Payment transactions
- Dealing with customer complaints
- Industry and related knowledge
QUALIFICATIONS AVAILABLE:
- New Zealand Certificate in Food & Beverage Service Level 3 with strands in Café Services, Function Services, Bar Services, Restaurant Services and Quick Service Restaurant Services.
ENTRY CRITERIA:
All students who wish to enrol must go through a selection interview process. Participants who meet this eligibility are able to take part in these programmes:
- Aged 16 years and above and left school
- Must be eligible to study in New Zealand
- Commitment to completing the qualifications
- Have an appropriate level of literacy & numeracy skill to study at Level 3
- Must be over the age of 18 years to complete the Bar Services strand.
