This programme is designed for people who are aspiring to or in a career in adult and tertiary teaching or training, including vocational education and training. It will focus on learning outcomes, facilitation and teaching strategies, and enhancing learning through assessment and moderation practices. Graduates will be able to create and sustain a learner-centered teaching environment that respects learners’ mana and diverse backgrounds, and the wider educational and societal context, in order to facilitate quality learning.
Adult & Tertiary Teaching (Level 5)
PROGRAMME CONTENT INCLUDES:
- Design, prepare, and facilitate adult learning lessons.
- Design and evaluate assessment materials
- Quality assurance assessment
- Evaluate and improve professional knowledge and practice.
QUALIFICATIONS AVAILABLE:
New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching Level 5
ENTRY CRITERIA:
Selection Interview
Minimum of Level 4 qualification preferably in Adult & Tertiary Teaching, or can demonstrate equivalent skills. Participants are required to have a placement in the industry where they may be delivering education or training as part of their role, or in the community as a volunteer.

24 weeks with teaching delivered over a series of workshops
SCHEDULE
Self-directed learning will be required between workshops
VENUE
Usually held at the Whangarei Campus, but if there is sufficient interest other venues will be considered.
