Electricity Supply Level 2

Familiarise yourself with the electricity supply system industry.

Gain the fundamental skills needed plus the health and safety training to enter the Electricity Supply Industry.  This course also tackles the essential components of electricity supply system, grid structure & capacity, and the coordination of supply and demand.

PROGRAMME CONTENT INCLUDES:

  • Principles of generation, transmission, and distribution
  • Electricity Act
  • Industry rules and guidelines
  • Carrying out practical electricity supply tasks under supervision
  • Telecommunications assets
  • Industry health and safety

QUALIFICATIONS AVAILABLE:

  • New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Introductory) (Electricity Supply and Strand) Level 2
  • New Zealand Certificate in Foundation Skills Level 2

ENTRY CRITERIA:

All students who wish to enroll must go through a selection interview process.

Participants who meet this eligibility are able to take part in these programmes:

  • Aged 16 years and above and left school
  • Commitment to completing the qualifications
  • Commitment to move to higher level education on completion of the programme
  • Have an appropriate level of literacy & numeracy skill to study at Level 2
